Koa Designs, LLC dba Designs by Kadooka is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our small, locally owned woodworking company in Pearl City. We specialize in handcrafted Koa wood products that celebrate Hawaiian tradition and design.
Position: Woodworking Assistant
Location: Pearl City, Oʻahu
Type: Part-time (depending on experience/availability)
What You’ll Do:
- Learn the tricks and techniques in sanding, finishing, and assembling handcrafted wood products
- Help maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
- Possibly package and prepare items for retail and wholesale orders
- Learn traditional woodworking techniques and craftsmanship and get paid to do so
- Work with a team that values quality, tradition, and aloha
Ideal Candidate:
- Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
- Comfortable using basic tools (training provided, if needed)
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Experience with woodworking a plus, but not required
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, although we do have stools to sit on if the particular job allows it
- Able to lift 25 pounds
- Quality takes time - we value craftsmanship over haste
Pay: $14.00/hour
Hours are extremely flexible. Work when you can: morning, afternoons, weekends, holidays. Most of our employees have full-time jobs outside of our work environment.
